The Who es el artista principal del New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, que, en su edición 2020 va a contar también con actuaciones de Dead & Company, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Lizzo, Lionel Richie, The Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz y The Beach Boys, entre muchísimos otros.
El Jazz Fest tendrá lugar este año entre el 23 y el 26 de abril, y el 30 de abril y el 3 de mayo, y su lema 2020 es “Lugar correcto, momento correcto”, destacando al recientemente fallecido Dr. John como gran icono del NOLA.
Como de costumbre, varios artistas de la propia Crescent City subirán al escenario en el recinto ferial: desde Irma Thomas hasta Aaron Neville, Tank & The Bangas, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, George Porter Jr. y Runnin ‘Pardners.
Un set muy especial de Wu-Tang Clan contará con el apoyo de la banda de música Soul Rebels, y, según la tradición, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux de los Wild Magnolias aparecerá con sus Golden Eagles Mardi Gras Indians.
El comunicado oficial del Jazz Fest explica:
“Celebrando sus 51 años, el Jazz Fest continúa mostrando los nombres más importantes de la música tanto a nivel local como nacional. Celebrando décadas de recuerdos musicales y culturales, Jazz Fest presenta a los artistas de más alto calibre en géneros tan variados como gospel, blues, jazz tradicional y contemporáneo, rock, R&B, cajún, country, zydeco y mucho más”.
