Justo desde que apareció “Meddle” en octubre de 1971, donde estaba la decisiva “Echoes” , justo desde ese momento, Pink Floyd fue otro grupo, muy distinto, con la aparición de “Dark side of the Moon” y el resto que los hizo multimillonarios y unos de los grupos favoritos de todos los tiempos.

Pero los que nos compramos en el año 1967, el EP, español de Pink Floyd , que contenía los dos singles, “Arnold Layne y “See Emily play” y, a continuación sin solución de continuidad la absoluta obra maestra que era el primer álbum “The Piper and the gates of Dawn” , siempre pensamos que cuando desapareció Syd Barret algo grave había pasado en el estilo del grupo.
Pero me da igual, porque la llegada de su amigo de Cambridge, Dave Gilmour fue también importante. “Sólo hay que escuchar los temas de “Ummaguma”, que también están aquí. Y “More” y el fantástico “Atom heart mother”. Son unos años iniciales de comienzo maravillosos, inolvidables.
Imprescindible. Yo sé que la caja es una pasada y excesivamente cara, pero este doble CD es una obra maravillosa, ejemplar de un grupo que era sensacional incluso antes de “Dark Side of the Moon”.
