James Horner se estrelló sólo con su avioneta. El volar, como en el caso de John Denver, era su gran pasión.
Era el más polémico de los compositores de banda sonoras, porque siempre se le achacaba que copiaba mucho, muchísimo. Todo por la pasta.
James Horner tenía 61 años de edad y era responsable de bandas sonoras tan “recordadas” como las de Titanic, Avatar, Una mente maravillosa, El último mohicano o Leyendas de pasión.
La noticia de la muerte de Horner se extendió tras conocer que un aparato estrellado en Santa Barbara era propiedad del compositor . Su asistente personal, Sylvia Patrycja, fue la que confirmó la noticia en la red social Facebook:
“Hemos perdido a un hombre maravilloso, con un enorme corazón y un talento increíble. Ha muerto haciendo lo que más amaba:pilotar Gracias por siempre, por todo su apoyo”.
El abogado de Horner confirmó que Horner incluso poseía varias aeronaves. Por eso, no podía confirmar su muerte en un primer momento.
La avioneta sufrió el accidente cerca del Bosque Nacional de Los Padres, a 96 kilómetros de Santa Bárbara (California).
