Otra edición más de los MTV Video Music Awards, que en su gala 2021 regresó a la ciudad de Nueva York el domingo con su habitual carga de glamour (un verdadero pase de modelos) aunque musicalmente resulten aburridos, incluso irrelevantes en la gala en directo presentada por Doja Cat y transmitida por la propia MTV.

Justin Bieber resultó ser el ganador de los premios, llevándose a casa los premios al Artista del Año y al Mejor Pop, mientras que Olivia Rodrigo ganó los premios a la Canción del Año y Mejor Nuevo Artista y Lil Nas X recibió el codiciado premio al Video del Año.
Por supuesto, cómo no, hubo premio también para Billie Eilish por la canción “Your Power”.
Madonna felicitó a los MTV VMA en su 40 aniversario, aprovechando para reivindicarse a sí misma, y David Lee Roth rindió homenaje a su excompañero de banda Eddie Van Halen.
