MICHAEL KIWANUKA: recomendaciones
A pesar de tener a Otis Redding en la cabeza, la producción de Danger Mouse le ha llevado a Michael al sentimiento de hacer todo un maravilloso disco, con la intención de hacer poco más o menos un “Blonde on Blonde” a lo Bob Dylan.
Cree sobre todo en la naturalidad de los instrumentos y, aunque el rock no está de moda, rellena sus sentimientos con los ideales básicos del rock.
El disco se escucha de un tirón y descubres cada día nuevas cosas.por ejemplo, la determinación y la calidad del primer tema, el más que generoso “Cold Little Heart” , que es nuestro favorito de largo.A lo Pink Floyd. Un ejemplo para las nuevas generaciones del rock del siglo XXI.
Hijo de ugandeses que huían del régimen de Idi Amin Dada , Michael Kiwanuka es del barrio de Muswell Hill, en el norte de Londres. A los 12 años su madre, realizando economías, le regala una guitarra, que es para él una revelación. Comienza a tocar en grupos del barrio. En esos grupos es influido sobre todo por Nirvana o Radiohead. Y de ahí al estrellato.
