El fundador de Acid Jazz Records y Modcast, Eddie Piller, ha comisariado el segundo volumen de la gran recopilación “British Mod Sounds of The 1960s”.

El volumen 2 se llama “The Freakbeat & Psych Years”, y más que una antología de música mod una compilación de lo que sucedió en el Reino Unido justo después de la era mod. Una mirada que va desde principios de 1965 hasta finales de los años sesenta.

Este set rastrea el desarrollo de pilares mod y beat autóctonos como Small Faces, The Who, The Action, The Kinks, The Move, The Troggs con una selección de futuras superestrellas (David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Fleetwood Mac, Jimmy Page de Led Zeppelin y Steve Howe de Yes), bandas sobradamente conocidas por los entendidos como John´s Children, The Birds, The Poets, Riot Squad, The Sorrows junto con algunos artistas tan oscuros y escondidos que ni siquiera llegaron a lanzar un disco en los años 60, pero cuyas cintas Piller ha rastreado.

“British Mod Sounds of The 1960s Vol 2: The Freakbeat & Psych Years” va a estar disponible como caja de 4 CDs con 95 canciones y 6 LPs con impresión firmada, 91 canciones y prensado de vinilo en color púrpura, y un resumen de 2 LPs (31 temas).

La fantástica edición incluye nuevas notas de Richard Norris y saldrá a la venta el 17 de febrero de 2023 vía Demon Music.
