LAURYN HILL CELEBRARÁ LOS 20 AÑOS DE SU GRAN ALBUM «MISEDUCATION»

ha anunciado una nueva gira por América del Norte para celebrar el vigésimo aniversario de su álbum de debut, ‘The Miseducation of ‘.

Lanzado en agosto de 1998, la aclamada opera prima de Hill acabó por conseguir el estatus de clásico en los siguientes años, llegando a ser ocho veces disco de platino.

Lauryn fue primero parte del trío , junto a Wycleaf Jean y Pras. Con ellos tuvo mucha notoriedad a mitad de los 90 con los elepés «Blunted On Reality» y, sobre todo «The Score», publicado en 1996.

A su salida de , en 1998, llegó ese primer LP de Lauryn, primero y último de estudio porque tras un fin de década triunfal, Lauryn se quitó de en medio insatisfecha con la industria de la música y las presiones de la fama. En el nuevo milenio se convirtió lentamente en una figura recluida a lo Brian Wilson.

No sirvió ni un «MTV Unplugged» ni una reunión de para reavivar su carrera. Pero lo peor para Lauryn estaba por llegar cuando hace seis años se declaró culpable de no pagar los impuestos de la renta. En 2013 ingresaba en prisión tres meses.

Ahora, anuncia esa larga gira norteamericana para celebrar el vigésimo aniversario de su álbum clásico, que hará integro en las actuaciones.

La gira dará comienzo en Virginia Beach el 5 de julio y concluirá en San Luis el 5 de octubre.
