Han sido objeto de ediciones pirata durante décadas y por fin van a ver la luz en edición oficial. Nos referimos a las raras sesiones de 1969 de Bob Dylan y Johnny Cash cantando a dúo, que va a ser lanzadas el 1 de noviembre por Columbia / Legacy Records como parte de la decimoquinta entrega de las celebradas “Bootleg Series” dylanianas.

Pero la caja ‘Travelin’ Thru, 1967 – 1969: The Bootleg Series Vol. 15 ‘, no solo incluye eso, sino toda clase de material de la fase de Dylan post accidente de motocicleta que abarca los álbumes “John Wesley Harding”, “Nashville Skyline” y el doble “Self Portrait”. El nuevo lanzamiento documenta los dos años que Dylan pasó en Nashville, incluyendo las citadas sesiones de estudio con Cash.

Estas nuevas “bootlegs series” van a salir en 3 CDs, 3 LPs y digital. En total incluyen 47 grabaciones desconocidas y buscadas.

Según el anuncio oficial, en el disco uno de “Travelin ‘Thru” podremos encontrar a Dylan en el Estudio A de Columbia en Nashville grabando versiones alternativas de  “John Wesley Harding” y “Nashville Skyline”, y la nueva canción, “Western Road”.

Los discos dos y tres de Travelin ‘Thru se centran en las colaboraciones de Dylan con Cash, incluidas las legendarias sesiones registradas en el Estudio A de Columbia, y las actuaciones del Auditorio Ryman (1 de mayo de 1969) para la grabación del primer episodio de “The Johnny Cash Show”.

El disco tres cierra con temas grabados el 17 de mayo de 1970 con la leyenda del banjo bluegrass, Earl Scruggs para el especial de televisión de PBS, “Earl Scruggs: His Family and Friends”, originalmente emitido en enero de 1971.

Dylan ha compartido como anticipo, ‘I Pity the Poor Immigrant (Take 4)’ y ‘Tell Me That It Isn’t True (Take 2)’. Tomas ciertamente distintas a las de los discos, frescas, dinámicas.
