Ese maravilloso lugar es donde trabajaban juntos el compositor Barry Mann y Cynthia Weil , maravillosa letrista . También es donde conocieron y comenzaron a la la elaboración de canciones que era auténticas obras maestras. También es donde se enamoraron, se casaron y escribieron más de 50 canciones de éxito para las próximas cuatro décadas.
La canción auténtica obra maestra de Barry y Cynthia fue “You´ve lost that lovin feleelin feelin”, que como la producía Phil Spector, tuvieron que darle al “monstruo” parte de la autoría. La cantaron los Righteous Brothers y fue la canción más tocada del siglo XX, con más de 8 millones de reproducciones.
Ahora, Lionel Richie , que les va a entregar el premio a estos sensacionales autores el premio Grammy , “Trustees Award”, cuenta una curiosa historia de la pareja:
“Recuerdo la primera vez que conocí a Barry y Cynthia. Me presenté en su casa sabiendo que tenía una buena melodía y una buena idea para un título, pero necesitaba ayuda. Mi título era “Strangers In The Night”. Cynthia me dijo: “¿Te molestaría si cambio el título de ‘Running With The Night’?” Y después de unos golpes en mi ego, le dije: “Claro”.
