Catorce años después de que Axl Rose comenzara a trabajar en él intrincado y famoso álbum , tal día como hoy, justo catorce años, se lanzaba el álbum “Chinese Democracy” de Guns and Roses.

¿Después del lanzamiento en 1993 de The Spaghetti Incident? los miembros de la banda abandonaban el barco y el grupo, uno por uno, dejando a Axl como el único miembro original en 1997. Con un nuevos músicos , continúa trabajando en el álbum, alentado por su sello, Geffen Records, que ofrece un millón de dólares si puede entregarlo para marzo de 1999.
La pene es que fue nueve años después, cuando vio la luz .Esa fecha venía y se iba , al igual que los productores y músicos que trabajan en el proyecto. La fecha objetivo del verano 2000 pasa tranquilamente, pero en 2001, las cosas se ven bien para un lanzamiento, ya que la banda toca algunos shows y Axl hace un pre estreno de las canciones .
En 2002, la banda se atreve con la gira a la que llaman ” Chinese Democracy”, aunque no hay ningún álbum. Los retrasos continúan, y en 2004, el guitarrista Buckethead, un jugador clave en este drama, deja la banda.
En 2006, se filtraron tres canciones del álbum, con una de ellas, ” IRS “. Axl publica una carta abierta para los seguidores de la banda , que establece la nueva fecha de lanzamiento el 6 de marzo de 2007. Lo cierto es que fue 16 meses después.
Para cuando el álbum llega, al menos seis productores diferentes han trabajado en él, y más de trece millones de dólares se han hundido en el proyecto. El álbum se encontró con reseñas tibias y ventas modestas. Encima .
